Blind Tiger and Cannibal Flower Present "In The Garden Of Earthly Delights"
WHAT: Blind Tiger and Cannibal Flower explore the senses with culinary license and artistic redolence.
Experience smell, memory and recognition of the subliminal at the second in the series of wine and cheese tastings served with art, produced by Blind Tiger in conjunction with Cannibal Flower, a bi-monthly traveling underground group art show.
In The Garden of Earthly Delights is a hedonistic tasting where value is gauged on a pleasure scale. According to Talia Wabnig, founder of Blind Tiger, “The goal is to explore your palate and learn a vocabulary to describe what we are collectively and individually experiencing within the complex makeup of the wine and to discern the different flavors and understand how to talk about them.”
“For this tasting, I picked aromatic cheeses that developed their smell from being smoked or aged in herbs or wines,” Wabnig says. Cheeses include Ubriaco del Piave, a cow's milk cheese from Italy aged over three months in Cabernet, Merlot and Raboso wine; Romao, an Italian cave aged sheep's milk cheese rolled in rosemary; Idiazabal, a sheep’s milk cheese from Spain with a slight smoky flavor; Nevat, a goat cheese from Spain; and assorted herbed triple crèmes and Bries, all from The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills.
Describing the structure of wine is similar to describing the composition of a painting. The quality of a wine or a painting is determined by how the narrative or the taste unfolds for the viewer/ taster. Appropriately, the featured winery for this tasting is Bonny Doon, a renegade vintner known for embracing biodynamic viticulture and screwcaps along with whimsical names and labels. The wines for the evening are a 2006 Le Cigar Blanc and 2007 Ca' del Solo Muscat.
“In The Garden of Earthly Delights provides an extrasensory aspect to the experience of understanding avant garde art,” notes L. Croskey, co-founder of Cannibal Flower.

And About Talia Wabnig and Blind Tiger:
Talia Wabnig, founder of Blind Tiger, is a graduate of UCSC with a BA in Fine Art and an emphasis in painting and photography. Wabnig has worked in youth centers from Santa Cruz to Alaska using art as a medium of self-expression and a tool to explore childrens' worlds and the choices they make. She keeps up with the family business by spending afternoons at The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills, creating limited edition artisanal food gift items, hand painting custom wine labels, and designing and merchandising the seasonal window displays. Blind Tiger was conceived for the singular purpose of learning about the simple pleasures of cheese and wine via spontaneous pop up tastings in unconventional settings.

Croskey: A modern day renaissance man, LC is an artists’ advocate; Los Angeles go-to underground art and venue impresario; co-founder of Cannibal Flower, a bi-monthly portable venue that showcases art, music, dance, film, projections and fashion shows; partner in ThinkSpace Gallery and collage artist.
